Primary Worldstate

Kirin Surana, Kestrel Hawke, Cinna Lavellan

Ferelden was thrown into quiet disarray but saved by a narrow-minded circle mage who redeemed himself in the end. Kirkwall was left proud and sturdy by the hands of a young political genius. The Inquisition was led by the controlling hand of a domineering elven assassin.

Secondary Worldstate

Erwin Aeducan, Valentine Hawke, Pike Adaar

Ferelden was saved by a ruthless exiled dwarven noble. Kirkwall was thrown into chaos by a quiet Ferelden smuggler who fell apart under pressure. The Inquisition was led by a mute Qunari mage who had little interest about the actual fate of the world.

Tertiary Worldstate

Unknown Warden, Unknown Hawke, Yila Lavellan + Others

There is not much known about this warden or Hawke: some say the warden was the inventive son of a noble family, and Hawke was a surgeon and lover of Sebastian Vael. The Inquisition was led by the advisors of a traumatized elven tranquil. There she is joined by Hellir Karnak, a mother who was apart of the Legion of the Dead, and her daughter Amar, a dwarven scholar.

KIRIN SURANA:

ORIENTATION: gnc unlabeled bigender (he/she)
AGE: 19 years old
CLASS: Mage
SPECIALIZATION: Spirit mage + some shapeshifter/blood magic
ROMANCE: Alistair

BIOGRAPHY:
Kirin was born in the Denerim Alienage and never got a chance to properly grow up. When he was only 5 years old, due to his parents' neglect, he had wandered too far from their home and fell down deep into the bottom of an isolated town well, immediately cracking his skull and killing him on impact. There, at the bottom of the well, Kirin may have died, but that's where her life truly began. It was there that a spirit -- a spirit of knowledge -- entered into her body, possessing and effectively resurrecting him. He still has the scars from his fall to this day. It was not long after this when he began to show signs for magic talent, and once she came into his talent he asked directly to be taken to the circle.
Kirin thrived in the Circle. He attributes the circle to being his "saviors" of a sort, getting him out of a less-than-ideal home life, and into the arms of a place of learning. He had to be careful not to alert the Templars too much, however, due to her spirit attachment, so while in the Circle he planned on becoming the perfect mage: training his mind and gaining as much knowledge as possible, and working with the Circle hand-in-hand. She was very loyal to them, and it was his dream to become the First Enchanter...until the Blight began.During the Blight Kirin was suddenly thrust back into the open world with no authority to guide him. She was lost, and hated the Grey Wardens for taking him away from his home. Still, he had to adapt, and she did so by trying to logically defeat the Blight every step of the way with the knowledge he gained while in the Circle, believing himself to hold all answers and think his opinions are fact. Throughout his time as a Warden, however, Kirin would soon come to realize that she has a very, very shallow world view, and she doesn't know nearly as much as he thinks he does -- in fact, he doesn't actually know much at all. The decisions he made throughout the game brought on destruction and strife for Ferelden, but he also saved in in some parts as well. By the end, the Archdemon was defeated, and she was left with the horrors of his own misplaced choices. He never went back to the circle after it was all said and done.PERSONALITY:
Kirin tends to be a bit intimidating, quiet, and is always seen with a scowl or straight face. To those that don't know him, and to those he doesn't care to know, he can be very short and impatient with them. She has an inflated ego and attempts to use his intelligence for everything, but doesn't understand he acts more on her feelings than anything, and equally doesn't understand that book smarts won't get you everywhere in life. He can be cold, negative, extremely arrogant, and a know-it-all in most aspects.
Despite his seemingly sour demeanor, however, she is quite shy and insecure as a whole, and is much more naive than he ever cares to admit. His passion and loyalty are unmatched, and he doesn't take kindly to people who squash those who are underneath them. He is arrogant, but not selfish. There's a part of him deep, deep down that is desperate: desperate for love he never received, desperate for companionship which he never had due to his personality, desperate to be understood, desperate to be seen. She wants kindness, but knows she doesn't operate like others do. He eventually grows into this.RELATIONSHIPS:
During the Blight Kirin grew the closest to Morrigan, Alistair, Wynne, and Sten, surprisingly. He became fast friends with Morrigan early on due to their shared outlook on life, and quickly grew close to one another. They both felt understood with each other and Kirin was happy to meet someone with the similar worldviews, and Morrigan felt the same. As time went on, however, Morrigan grew more and more ruthless in her decision making and Kirin recognized himself in her a little more than he wanted to. He realized that if he tread the same path she did he would also end up loveless, selfish, and ultimately alone -- he didn't want that to be his fate. At that same time, he started to prefer the personality of Alistair, someone who didn't give in to selfishness and greed, and instead was a good person all throughout. Overtime they ended up falling in love with each other, and after the Blight ended Alistair became king with Kirin as his court Mage. This time was short, however, and they ended up running off to become Wardens once again. They never left each others side after that.
TRIVIA:
- Kirin loves insects, and liked to pin them in his spare time at the Circle
- He practiced casual, healing blood magic
- At some point in his youth he and the spirit fused into one person, and there's no end or beginning with either of them now
- He uses a lot of telekinetic-based magics

KESTREL HAWKE:

ORIENTATION: transgender butch lesbian (she/her)
AGE: 25 years old
CLASS: Two-handed warrior
SPECIALIZATION: Reaver
ROMANCE: Merrill

BIOGRAPHY:
Kestrel Hawke grew up a very shy and quiet child, always hiding and spying on others within her hometown of Lothering. After an injury involving raiders left her with a shattered ankle, she was bedridden attempting to heal the injury without a proper healer. Due to this, her ankle never healed properly, and she was left permanently disabled, and unable to truly walk too far or too much. After the incident she stayed in the house for the most part, and decided since she wasn't able to stand up for herself on the day of the attack and can't stand up for herself physically from here on out, she would read and study politics to use her voice to sway others instead. This grew into a lifelong passion that she one day wanted to uphold.
While in Kirkwall, she thrived in its political climate while somehow shying away from any actual combat. As her fame in the city grew she was able to gain a sterling reputation as a silver-tongued, smooth talking mercenary with great connections to the Viscount, which she greatly enjoyed. Due to her own ambitions she was able to eventually act out her dreams, even temporarily, and left Kirkwall strong and stalwart after the face of calamity.PERSONALITY:
Kestrel was always seen as very serious, gloomy, and a bit over-dramatic. She is typically very paranoid, and will often act on her own assumptions without any proof or evidence. She will occasionally self-isolate because of this, and because of her general disdain for the people around her. Kestrel's personality has a lot of themes surrounding duality, and how someone may look one way but act another: Kestrel looks like a general hero type, is a warrior, and a favored mercenary around Kirkwall, but she is actually incredibly cowardly and will run away from about any fight. She has no problem with abandoning those that are closest to her for her own self-preservation, and she is always acting on her own whims and ambitions. Apart from that, she is incredibly skilled at politics, and is a natural at what she does.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Kestrel never got close to her own companions -- she was content with keeping them around until they outlived their usefulness to her, which ultimately made for a poor friend. She had no interest in actually getting close to anyone, but found that she meshed really well with Merrill, and soon enough they sparked a relationship together. They both admired each others ambitious nature and supported each other through their plans, and they felt understood knowing they were both outcasts who found each other instead. They didn't get together officially until a few years after the events of DA2, however, when everything was finally calm.
TRIVIA:
- Kestrel dresses in the style of a German Landsknecht
- Kestrel wields a halberd

CINNA LAVELLAN:

ORIENTATION: gnc bisexual cis woman (he/him)
AGE: 42 years old
CLASS: Rogue - archery
SPECIALIZATION: Assassin
ROMANCE: Solas / Roscoe

BIOGRAPHY:
Cinna was born into clan Lavellan as the child prodigy from a long line of hunters. He easily followed in his parents’ footsteps, becoming an apprentice hunter at an exceedingly young age. After years of isolation and alienation from his peers following the death of his parents, he changed his name and left the clan, wanting more from life that he knew his clan wouldn’t be able to give. With a bow as his only possession, he left for the city of Starkhaven at 18 years old. Cinna is resourceful, ambitious, intelligent, and resolute, and with these qualities he expertly rose up from nothing to become a highly feared, but respected, master assassin. He worked under the moniker “Barn Owl.”
Cinna was always deeply committed to his work, and while being Inquisitor had no direct connection to assassinating, he nonetheless upheld the title with great authority. As Inquisitor, despite his Dalish upbringing, he became 100% devoted to the role of being the Herald of Andraste, and believed himself to be a vessel of her will. His web of connections grew wider, his capacity for power rose sharply, and he could suddenly go to much greater lengths to carry out his idea of justice. Because of this attitude and his general egotistical nature, Cinna eventually went power mad, making influential alliances and corrupted choices as well as slowly leading the Inquisition into tyranny. He was trigger happy with executions and subsequently destroyed the lives of many people, friends and strangers alike.Cinna is a manipulative, calculating, and unsettling woman, combined with an unrelenting willpower and a naturally cruel disposition. He was despised by many of his companions, feared by others, but also notably respected even outside of his circle. His ability to get tasks done, as well as his status as a highly trained professional, quickly garnered high esteem despite his personal temperament. He grew close to Iron Bull and Leliana (who he already knew through their shared profession) but he became especially close to Roscoe for a time, and began a relationship with Solas as well.Over time Cinna grew more radical and dogmatic, and he eventually lost the respect of his few remaining friends and companions. Before the events at the Well of Sorrows unfolded, his sanity was slipping, and Cinna was close to a breaking point in his enduring madness. After witnessing Mythal’s control firsthand and realizing the cost of drinking from the Well, his mind started to slowly snap back to reality. He began to see the error of his ways, but it never hit him until shortly after the death of Corypheus, but by then it was too late. He was alone.During Trespasser, however, is when his past mistakes had finally caught up to him: after the betrayal of Iron Bull, the death of Blackwall, and his own demise fast approaching, he began to fully recognize the weight of his actions. He disbanded the Inquisition shortly after without any hesitation, attempting to compensate for the suffering that he had caused to not only the world, but to the people who were closest to him. After the Exalted Council, Cinna moved to Markham to live with Roscoe. He instantly returned to his work as an assassin as if nothing had changed, despite the relocation to another city. Both his skills and connection outreach had improved immensely during his time as Inquisitor, and he was ready to capitalize on everything that he had learned. In his spare time he was happy to research alongside Roscoe, helping her contribute to the study of elven material history with the knowledge they gained during the Inquisition.PERSONALITY:
Cinna has a very composed and enigmatic personality, making it naturally hard to get to know him. He is evasive in his wording, but acutely perceptive and blunt in his insults, and will not hesitate to attempt to control and manipulate anyone who seems fit. His will is indestructible, and there are few things in this world that ever truly get to him. He is incredibly competitive and arrogant, and will never hold back from any confrontation, especially if he can gain the upper hand. Most everything he says is always with a sardonic smile.
Cinna is not without his good qualities, however: he has an unbridled passion for anything he sets his mind to, and will put his whole heart into where his interests lie. He has a keen interest for owls specifically, and has done countless field studies on them, resulting in several published books. He is incredibly curious, inquisitive, and has the desire to learn about most anything; he is especially open minded when the other person is a professional. Cinna takes great pleasure in parties, and he loves to drink, indulge, and laugh with the right company. He is uninhibited and cannot get embarrassed, which makes him occasionally fun to be around.RELATIONSHIPS:
Cinna is generally an unpleasant person to be around but he is intensely loyal to the people who befriend him, and to the people he respects.
As Inquisitor he was most notably close to the Iron Bull, Leliana, Cassandra, and, to a lesser extent, Josephine. After the sacrifice of Bull’s Chargers, Cinna and Iron Bull’s friendship took a slow, downward plunge. He would have regretted his actions entirely if Iron Bull did not end up betraying him in Trespasser. It hurt Cinna tremendously to kill him in the end, but it was ultimately necessary.During his time in the Inquisition he began a romantic relationship with Solas. Cinna was immediately charmed by his intellect, and was fascinated with how much he knew about magic and the fade. They bonded over their shared interest in magic and political intrigue. Their relationship, however, was doomed to fail fairly early on — both of them were selfish and arrogant, and often resulted in passive aggressive arguments. What they shared in personal interests, they lacked in core beliefs, which destroyed them. Cinna was the one to end the relationship in Crestwood, harboring especially resentful and heated feelings due to his power madness. As Cinna’s romantic relationship with Solas grew he, at the same time, began developing feelings for Roscoe. He had connected with her immediately in Haven, but after the events of In Hushed Whispers he decidedly took a step back from pursuing her, and instead had a strictly professional relationship. Roscoe was his own “left hand” as Inquisitor, so to speak, and there wasn’t a single person in the world that he trusted more. They had an incredibly deep bond, and there was a spark of romance that they couldn’t act on due to Cinna’s relationship with Solas. Although they seem like polar opposites, both of them were nearly identical within their core, and they both felt wholly understood when around each other. Roscoe sees right through Cinna’s manipulation tactics, and Cinna in turn is unfazed by her temper and intimidating demeanor. As he grew more and more frantic and irritable from his power madness, however, Cinna’s relationship with Roscoe took a sharp plummet, and she ended up leaving him and the Inquisition. This devastated Cinna, and threw him into a long, bitter rage. They eventually reconnected years later in Trespasser during the Exalted Council, where they both confessed their feelings to one another. They instantly began a relationship together, and after that point were completely inseparable.TRIVIA:
- Cinna’s unique vallaslin belongs to Andruil and is based around the shape of a barn owl’s beak
- Cinna is very tall, standing at 6’3 (1.90 m)
- Cinna always wears all-white clothing and armor
- He has a large collection of magical artifacts, despite not being a mage himself
- Cinna’s animal counterpart is the barn owl
- According to his tombstone in the Fade, Cinna’s greatest fear is losing himself
- Cinna’s tarot card is The Magician

ERWIN AEDUCAN:

ORIENTATION: genderless comphet lesbian (they/them)
AGE: 24 years old
CLASS: Rogue - dual wield daggers
SPECIALIZATION: Duelist
ROMANCE: none with left Morrigan

BIOGRAPHY:
Erwin Aeducan (pronounced air-ven) was the second child of Endrin Aeducan, the King of Orzammar. They were born with an extra sensitive stone-sense, and ever since they were a child they always heard the stone calling to them, humming like song. Hearing this melody led them to become dependent on lyrium, and over the course of their life they became an addict for it, attempting to hear more of the call and what it had to say. This made them ostracized amongst their own family, and they began to try and make themself appear a more and more capable dwarf to the public in order to fill up the absence. After a great deal of time listening to the call, however, Erwin began to interpret it as a prophecy of their life: they were going to do something ground breaking, something that would go down in history, something that had to do with the Blight. They spent their whole life trying to get this prophecy fulfilled, and knew without any uncertainty that it would happen eventually. When Duncan saved them from the Deep Roads and offered them a place among the Grey Wardens, they knew this time was finally closing in.
PERSONALITY:
Erwin always had an energetic, optimistic, and upbeat personality to literally anything and everything they did, and was often intense with these emotions to the point of concern (and annoyance to those around them). They were negligent about their own life and safety throughout the course of the Blight, believing that they would absolutely without a doubt make it out alive of any situation due to their prophecy not being fulfilled yet. They were eccentric with their choices as a Warden but ruthless when it came to politics and gaining allies, which they gained fairly quickly with a no-nonsense, cunning attitude. Nothing could stand in their way if they tried.
Deep down, though, Erwin was also tremendously broken. The alienation in their own family cut them deeply, even if they can't admit it to themself. They try and try and try to appear capable and stately and flawless, the perfect dwarf, but they know they'll never truly amount to it. They're an outsider amongst the dwarves and an even bigger outsider amongst the other races. Because of this Erwin forces their dwarven status onto themself and everyone they meet, and will never stray from it, even if most people don't know the implications.RELATIONSHIPS:
Throughout the course of the Blight, Erwin became closest with Morrigan and Leliana. They bonded well with Leliana who shared their optimistic attitude, and they often talked about their respective visions with passion and fervor. Leliana was the only person who ever believed their prophecy, and was an fast ally up until the end. Erwin's relationship with Morrigan started out rocky and intense, but they soon came to a mutual understanding of each other, and had an unlikely but loving sort-of romance in the process. Morrigan understood their ruthless nature and reveled in it, and Erwin admired that a human woman could be so powerful and dominating. They never officially struck up a romance, however, due to Erwin not understanding their own sexuality and was too focused on being as "dwarfy" as possible, aka being romantically involved with another woman (let alone a human) was simply not possible. In the end they did not do the dark ritual with Morrigan, which hurt her deeply, and got Erwin killed in the process.
TRIVIA:
- Erwin often has snake motifs surrounding them (dual daggers represent fangs, the prophecy is meant to symbolize ouroboros, etc)
- Erwin started wearing glasses after coming to the surface, and often wears goggles during battle

VALENTINE HAWKE:

ORIENTATION: straight transgender man (he/him)
AGE: 25 years old
CLASS: Rogue - archery
SPECIALIZATION: Shadow
ROMANCE: Isabela

BIOGRAPHY:
(Note from the author -- Valentine is in the process of going through a massive rewrite, so unfortunately I don't have much down for him anymore. He will most likely be changed into another oc eventually but his new story/plot/idea and romance will stay the same).
What I have for him will be put underneath.PERSONALITY:
For Valentine I wanted a Hawke who has been labeled bad or undesirable his entire life, and because of this he actively tried to make good choices in an attempt to be a good person and to rise above the aforementioned label. This works for a good amount of time, and Valentine is seen as someone always willing to help out, if a bit soft-spoken, mellow, and shy. As his fame in the city rises, however, Valentine is now blamed for more and more and more problems, and that label is now back and worse than ever. He eventually breaks under the constant pressure, and in the end feeds into his despicable nature since he can't seem to escape it any longer. Kirkwall is left destitute after he is exiled.
If you want a better handle on his personality this song and this song are my two inspirations for him.RELATIONSHIPS:
Got along well with Isabela, Merrill, Bethany. Neutral on Aveline, Anders, and Sebastian. Hated Fenris and Varric. Romanced Isabela.
TRIVIA:
- He loved birds
- He kept his birthname after he transitioned

PIKE ADAAR:

ORIENTATION: gnc bisexual and genderless (she/her)
AGE: 39 years old
CLASS: Mage
SPECIALIZATION: Knight-enchanter
ROMANCE: Blackwall

BIOGRAPHY:
Pike Adaar was born to tal-vashoth parents who left the qun in order to raise her themselves. There, alone, they still raised her fully on the teachings of the Qun even after leaving that life behind, leaving Pike in amazement at the stories she was taught. She loved learning about the Qun philosophies as a child the most, and reveled in learning more and more about her culture. She fully committed to being "qunari" after learning all she could, even when living among non-qunari. As time went on her parents enforced the Qun less and less while trying to take more of a foothold in human society. Despite Pike being partially raised with humans, she saw this as a massive injustice to her culture and the Qun, and she doubled down even further on her studies and learning.
At some point Ben-hassrath agents caught up to them and were closing in on her family. Since Pike was incredibly strict with her learning she knew that the tal-vashoth must be killed, and so she led the agents to her house, and watched her parents die because of her own actions. Horrified at what she just did, she killed the agents herself and left the town to lay low in the surrounding woods of the Free Marches. She lives heavily with her guilt every day, and eventually left the wilderness to join traveling mercenary companions. Which eventually led her to the Conclave...PERSONALITY:
Pike is torn between two worlds constantly: as much as she wants to be full Qunari, she will never be able to. She's as much Qunari as she isn't, and she can never go back to that life that she has since destroyed. Pike enjoyed the life she was brought up in and reveled in its freedoms, but longs for a purpose in it. She clings to the Qun for that purpose, but she has too much personal freedom and thought to ever be fully apart of it. Pike enjoys the philosophy aspect at the very least, loves wondering about the big questions about life and the world, and enjoys writing poetry. She speaks softly and sagely, is very thoughtful with what she says, and often gives great advice, although a lot of it is rooted in bias. Despite her wise disposition, she can be a bit of a condescending centrist and doesn't want any actual real change in the world.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Pike gets along fairly well with most people of the Inquisition, and is fairly easy company to be around. She enjoyed spending time with Iron Bull due to their Qun kinship, but always felt annoyed at the fact that she was never a "true" qunari in his eyes. Likewise she would have enjoyed talking to Solas more, and they seemed to have a lot in common, but he irritated her more than anything (the things she hated about him were also personality traits she shared). Pike felt the closest to Blackwall, however, who seemed to share the same deep seated guilt and duty that she felt herself. She enjoyed his courage and his heart, and soon enough they fell in love with each other. Pike happily pardoned him for his crimes in the end.
TRIVIA:
- Pike sports a very long, waist-length mullet which eventually she cuts into a skullet
- She often spoke cryptically in metaphors, stories, and riddes
- She became aqun-athlok after developed a talent for fighting while younger
- Pike is a mage but her magic developed very late. She never used as much magic before the Inquisition, but is now always using it in battle despite her not being very adept at it
- She has always wanted to transcribe and study from the Tome of Koslun herself, but could only ever get snippets of it

YILA LAVELLAN:

ORIENTATION: gnc intersex lesbian (she/her)
AGE: 25 years old
CLASS: Mage
SPECIALIZATION: Blood mage
ROMANCE: None

BIOGRAPHY:
Not much is known about Yila from when she was a child, but at some point she was picked up and indoctrinated within a Dalish cult in the Anderfels. This specific cult combined Andrastian and Dalish beliefs (as well as more eccentric beliefs from the cult leader) and specifically revered the Dalish god Sylaise. In the cult, the mages were only taught fire magic as well as blood magic - blood magic being the more prevalent choice. Yila was treated as extra special within the cult, treated as some sort of Chosen One, and therefore received the harshest of punishments and treatments. At some point during her time in the cult, after numerous failed attempts from outsiders to disband them, the Chantry finally caught up and slaughtered most of them. Yila, along with some others, were spared for unknown reasons and were separated. Yila was taken to the Hossberg Circle where she was forcibly made tranquil, and she stayed there for 6 years.
After the conclave happened and she became Herald, her exposure to the Anchor and the Fade cured her of her tranquility and therefore made her emotions entirely unpredictable. Yila was terrified of everything as Inquisitor - being labeled a "Chosen One" again after she escaped the cult brought on a lot of unwanted and painful feelings. Due to this, she was not a very good Inquisitor, and heavily relied on the services of her advisors to do most of the decision making. She was suddenly thrown into a world where she was terrified to be in, and with no time to breathe or even heal from her past. Even though her time as Inquisitor wasn't a good one, it was still the best time of her life, surrounded by people who actually loved her and able to make her own decisions. Yila eventually got the help and support she needed, and disbanded the Inquisition a strong and confident woman.PERSONALITY:
Yila's personality is hard to pinpoint, as she was unable to have be her own person for the majority of her life. She was very fearful and paranoid, and easily scared by the smallest things, especially anything that reminded her of the cult or of the Circle. Due to her tranquility being cured her emotions went extra haywire -- one moment she was elated, then next she was bawling, then next she was blowing up in anger seemingly on a whim. It was hard for her to gain a foothold into the type of person she wanted to be or who she even is deep deep down. Yila eventually heals from this with the help of her friends and confidants, and over the course of the game she gets better at handling her emotions.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Most people didn't like Yila all too much, but the people she got the closest to were Cole, Solas, and Blackwall. Cole was her best friend and she felt a kinship towards him, both being outsiders and considered freaks to most. She enjoyed Solas' teachings, and he and Blackwall helped to deprogram her from the trauma of cult life by teaching her about the real world. She had a slight crush on Josephine at some point, but that was short-lived.
TRIVIA:
- Yila is a very curious girl, and enjoyed learning about history
- She has a twin brother she doesn't know about
- She initially loathed Dorian, but she eventually picked up some necromancy magic from him
- Yila never shied away from using blood magic in public and around her companions, often using their own blood when they were injured (to everyones dismay)

HELLIR KALNAK:

ORIENTATION: gnc transgender lesbian woman (she/her)
AGE: 51 years old
CLASS: Warrior - flail/shield
SPECIALIZATION: Champion
ROMANCE: None

BIOGRAPHY:
Hellir was born to a prominent smithing caste family in Orzammar who always pushed her too hard in every aspect of life. She always had to work and do things for them, never for herself, so overtime she grew angry and resentful towards her parents for always being down her throat. She was labeled a rebel of the family, constantly pushing back at them, until she eventually fell in with the life of crime within the Carta. After a series of serious, unfortunate mistakes (both within her family and the Carta), Hellir was nearly killed and left for dead in the Deep Roads. There, she slipped out of consciousness, and she thought she had died until the Legion of the Dead found her and saved her. She had nowhere else to go back to, so she happily joined their legion, and easily adapted their beliefs of being truly dead.
While in the Legion, Hellir grew to be a highly respected and fully adorned commander who was mostly responsible for getting rid of the gangue in the stone, among other things. She led her team exceptionally well, and during her time among them she grew to be obsessed with her own idea of duty and justice, often to a fault. Hellir had no desire to return to the person she used to be when she was younger, and made it very clear to be as loyal to her men as possible -- whatever the cost.(Note from the author -- originally I had Hellir join the Inquisition because she wanted to reconnect with her long lost daughter she didn't know she had, but after thinking about it I'm not sure if that's a strong enough reason for her to leave the Legion behind. Therefore her story needs a re-write and is not finished, but she joins the Inquisition at some point; I just have to figure out how and why).PERSONALITY:
Hellir is a self-sacrificing, aloof loner, who may be a good leader but otherwise doesn't care to be around others too much. She enjoys her space and her privacy, but her ability to command a group of people is nearly unmatched. She is taciturn, strict, and fanatically devoted to the law and the way she wants to uphold it; this leads her into a lot of trouble, mainly with herself and the Legion, because she doesn't care about self-preservation all too much. She'd sacrifice anything to save her men, and has on multiple occasions. Hellir can also be incredibly gloomy, and is often a lot more serious about "being dead" than her compatriates.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Hellir kept to herself for most of the Inquisition, and tried to establish a relationship with her long lost daughter Amar. Other than her she got along very well with Cassandra, unsurprisingly, and attempted to romance her but was denied. She hated Blackwall and what he did to his men in Orlais, and hoped that the Inquisitor would let him rot in the jail cell.
TRIVIA:
- "Hellir" means cave in Icelandic
- Hellir always wears black clothes and black armor to keep the aesthetic of the Legion
- She wields a triple-headed black flail

AMAR CADASH:

ORIENTATION: gnc bigender lesbian (she/he)
AGE: 28 years old
CLASS: Warrior - two handed
SPECIALIZATION: Berserker
ROMANCE: Sera / Josephine

BIOGRAPHY:
Amar was born as a poor, casteless dwarf to a single mother in Orzammar's Dust Town. As most other casteless do when you have no other opportunities available to you, Amar quickly fell in and joined the Carta in order to provide for his mother and sister. There, she worked as a bruiser: the intimidator and muscle of the group, who roughs people up in order to pay their dues. She's quite good at what she does, and doesn't mind doing it either, but Amar knows that he can't keep this up forever and tries to search for a way out that's better for her entire family. He began to use her Carta connections to buy disguises and crafts in order to sneak into the Shaperate, to try and uncover any history surrounding the casteless and his family so that they could possibly raise their rank. She taught herself how to read in the process, and after a long time of reading and learning it turned into a lifelong passion for Dwarven history and archaeology. Amar wants to uncover the truth of the past since there is a huge lack of it, and he plans to use her research to help other casteless dwarves if needed.
Amar eventually left Orzammar to study in the University of Orlais, where she published her research on the cultures of ancient thaigs. In the process she elevated her family's status and visits her sister as often as she can. In the Inquisition, he joined as a liaison to the Orzammar shaperate in order to get extra connections to her research.PERSONALITY:
Amar is a typical rough and tough type, and looks the part too: she has scars over every part of her face and body, and he is incredibly stoic and shows no emotion what-so-ever. She always looks very angry to people, and she is, but she keeps her emotions composed and compressed deep inside her. Amar has a lot of trauma that he has dealt with all his life, so she keeps her emotions contained and repressed because of this, and also so she doesn't worry her sister too much.
Despite her rough appearance she cares for her family deeply and will do anything to protect them and make them comfortable. She has a very dry, wicked sense of humor that she enjoys taking part in with anyone he thinks is funny. Amar also has a lot of hope and love for her homeland, but she also carries a lot of trauma over it as well -- Orzammar never saw her as a person, but he wants to strengthen it back to its former glory and for it to be better than what it is now. She sees the good parts in it as well as the bad, and it will always be home to her now matter how rough her upbringing was to her and to the people around her. She has a lot of passion and is committed to the end.RELATIONSHIPS:
Amar got along well with Sera and Dorian for the most part. She and Dorian have a very similar experience with their homes and how they both love and hate it, and will often share those experiences with each other. They also love to talk about history together. He and Sera were friends with benefits for a while and they enjoyed each others company but broke it off before it got too serious and committed, though they still were good friends after. Amar fell hard for Josephine, however, and was immediately enamored with her political prowess and her expert pacifism. She was incredibly charmed by her attitude, but only ever admired her from afar for a good while. Amar pursued her during the end of the story, where they both shared the same, loving feelings for each other.
TRIVIA:
- Amar was originally my Brosca, which is why the origins are so similar. I wanted to put her in Inquisition instead but didn't want to sacrifice the backstory so I just kept it as is...haha
- She has a lazy eye
- Amar speaks with a very high, eloquent vocabulary despite their appearance
- Her scars are meant to represent cracks in ancient statues
